Nominate a High School Hero Today! Recognize an extraordinary student who is making a difference in our community! At EdFed, we believe in celebrating high school students who go above and beyond to give back through volunteerism. These students are making a positive impact whether serving at a food bank, participating in a beach clean-up, or volunteering at a nursing home. We are thrilled to continue our scholarship program this school year, awarding nine students a $1,500 scholarship for their community service. Nominate a high school student who has completed at least 25 community service hours in the preceding 12 months. Here is how it works:

Nine $1,500.00 "High School Hero Scholarships" will be awarded during the 2025-2026 school year, beginning September 2025 through May 2026. Rules: The rules governing the conduct of the Program are here: www.edfed.org/highschoolhero. Administrator: This Program is administered and funded by Educational Federal Credit Union (EdFed), located at 7800 SW 117 Ave., Miami, FL 33183. Eligibility: To receive the scholarship award, nominees must be a high school student in Miami-Dade or Broward County with at least 25 logged and confirmed volunteer hours in the preceding 12 months. If the nominee is a minor and selected as the recipient, an authorization form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian prior to funds disbursal. Proof of qualification in the form of a current Community Service Volunteer Log, validated by a representative from the student's school, must be provided within 5 school business days following notice of nominee's selection. Nominations: Nominations will be accepted from persons at least 13 years old. Nominations must be made via the online submission form on the dedicated landing page on EdFed's website. Nominations must be complete and accurate to be considered. Random Drawing: The scholarship is awarded 9 times during the 2025-2026 school year. The recipients will be selected from among all eligible applications via a random drawing. No purchase or contribution is necessary. Federally insured by NCUA. |
